Rufus works at the clinic on Tuesday afternoons and Thursdays.
Rufus trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and graduated in 2008 with a first class honours degree in Acupuncture.
“I was inspired to become an acupuncturist through my own experience of the wide ranging benefits that acupuncture gave me when I suffered with a prolapsed disc in my lower back”.
During his four years of training he volunteered as an auricular (ear) acupuncture practitioner for an acupuncture charity in Brighton, Pathways To Health. His post graduate training in acupuncture includes: pain management, musculo-skeletal conditions, sports injuries, mental health, gynaecology, fertility, pregnancy, menopause, men’s health, electro-acupuncture, and traditional Chinese nutrition. In October 2008 he spent six weeks travelling around China, two weeks of which was spent observing and practicing acupuncture in a mainstream hospital in Guangzhou.
Before becoming an acupuncturist Rufus spent 10 years working in IT.
Outside of work Rufus practices Qi Gong and regularly heads up to the South Downs on his mountain bike or on foot, whatever the weather. He also enjoys listening to and composing music, cooking and travelling. His biggest pleasure in life is spending time with his son.
